$10,000 up for grabs!

Well, not really, but sort of, kind of...
I volunteer with a great group called Girls on the Run Atlanta. From the website:
Girls on the Run combines training for a 5k (3.1 miles) event with healthy living education. We use exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to help girls discover the confidence they need in those critical pre-teen years and beyond. Through interactive activities such as running, playing games and discussing important issues, participants learn how to celebrate being their unique and real selves.

Right now, GOTR Atlanta is one of 10 finalists to receive a $10,000 grant from the Women's Sports Foundation. In order to win the grant money, the finalists created videos showcasing the great things they do for girls in the Metro Atlanta area. To vote, watch the video and then click VOTE. It's that easy. To read more details and to vote, please visit the GOTR Atlanta blog post here.

Help a school system rebuild their library

In April this year a tornado caused severe damage in the town of Ringgold, Georgia. To help rebuild, a group of readers, authors and bloggers joined together to create Ringgold Reads, dedicated to rebuilding the libraries of the local schools.

After only a few posts they've received a great deal of support from publishers and individuals alike. But they can still use more support. Click the link above to view their latest updates and help out a worthy cause. I've also included links below for some of the books they are seeking now.
